The Lower Power mode also gets a Bump too.:) I never really paid attention to it before but it does ~300mW Now.:)

This has made me happy.

I have an arctic g2 and i was looking to buy a new laser so i was browsing youtube and found a vid from laseerer and knew the name from the post mentioning a place with a rundown on how it was done so i turned to investigate mode and remembered where, sifting finaly paid off and here i am :D

I have 200 gbp which i was going to use on a new laser but i think that after reading this i am compelled to go forth and possibly sent a diode to diode heven.

Thing is i dont use paypal and i need the A140 diode (will buy 2-4) and need the G1 lense too (2-4). I am uk though and dont use paypal so i hope there is some uk folks here that can help (send a postal order).

I do have good solder knowlege so that wont be a problem, i just want my arctic to do what it was paid to do. I do love the beam colour.

Also is there any schematic on a test load? Sorry if i sound lazy, i dont mean to. This forum is packed with goodies and as i search i find myself getting caught up in related searches here and there (many good reads):D.

Oh and hi all and also thanks in advance
Happy holidays all :san:

Ok fellow folks after considerable searching . I have on delivery 2 A140 diodes with glass AF AixiZ lenses installed in M9,0.5mm nuts, 1 test load rated up to 3 amps, 1 t.i.s 100 dmm, 1 diode press tool 5.6mm, 1 tube of arctic thermal paste, antistatic wrist strap. These items should arrive sometime this month. No lpm atm but hopefully soonish.

Question though, Torchy brand 2600mAh 18650 unprotected or XTAR 18700 18650 2600mAh protected. Both same price. Anybody tried these and what do you think.

Once all the gear arrives i will start to upload pics and progress of my first adventure. :can:

Hello again peoples. Most of my stuff arrived. Still waiting on the lenses. Had to test my new doides so i stripped the host which resulted in the existing diode pins breaking :cryyy:
A risk i was willing to take. Anyway, here is some pics of the new diode in action.

Profile at ~17' its ~1cm

So i have not touched the pots yet as i am waiting on the components for my test load but the new diode is brighter and burns better. I was wondering though, do i need a test load as my dmm reads upto 10 amps at a 10mA resolution. could i just test the circut directly while the diode is running and if so would i need to test it in series or across the diode?

Other issue is that i dont want to screw the heat sink all the wayback in as there is lots of crap going on inside the host. I cut some empty ink carts up from some bic pens and slid them over the pins after soldering the wires on to help support the pins. The sink is transmitting heat to the host ok as i feel it warming when in use but still just wondering if this will be ok.

Thanks in advance guys
