Mits 500/ Cree 18650 light w/ DTR 510 threaded module

Hi,
My nephew's birthday is coming up and he wants a 1w red laser. I won this light on ebay, nice small 18650 side clicky, switch is really nice, also has a charging port. I've used flashlight drivers for the mits before so I hooked the lights driver to a test load and got 900 ma. The 510 threaded module screws right into the lights bezel. Works great and really easy.

I believe you've been lucky using LED drivers for laser diodes. The LED drivers are noisy compared to LD drivers and many LDs can't take it.

Hi Paul,
I only use them on the mits 500, they do well with these drivers. I have one mits set at 1.4 amps on a led driver, multimode even, s.o.s. flash low med hi. It's worked for months of daily use.

Nice work! I couldn't even imagine getting a laser for my birthday, I'm sure he would love it. Just have to be very careful on safety, lasers are fun but they're not toys. :beer:

Yeah,
He's 25 and already owns several of my lasers and saftey glasses. It's sweet the way this laser kinda fell together...lol
(Had all these parts, Just put them together...lol)
