Min voltage on ddl driver, 2x lithiums ok?

Well, 2x 1.5v will give 3v. It MIGHT work. If it doesn't, I'll wire the 2 x 10440s in parallel.
 
About the current question (if i have understood it correctly), yes, cause the Vref of LM117, 217, 317 and 1117 is the same, 1,25V, so the same resistor for each one of them give you the same current setting :)
 
If you are searching for SMD types, you can use these ones in TO252 ..... there are some offers in SOT223 SMD case, but are all fixed, perhaps.

Otherwise, in SOT223, you can use AS1117, an equivalent of LM1117, but with also a little more low dropout, like this one ..... it's more limited in current , cause it can give a maximum of 800mA only (logic, with that case), but the dropout is still 1,2V, and is still fully interchangeable with LM1117, same Vref, same current regulation.

I'm digging in my datasheet archive, for see if i can find something better :p

Daš par dolara i dobijes sve sta ti treba.
A svi ovi electronic centri mogu naruciti sve sto ti treba samo što cak izađe i skuplje nego preko ebaya.
