Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives

Do you think Megalodon still exists?

The Mocumentary. Yeah I saw it. Was way too fake. See the air cannons shoot up water when "megalodon" showed up? Please. What is is he a whale now? I dont deny that he may exist. Hell, anything is possible. But that show was just for entertainment. They had cameras rolling on their giant fishing lure the whole time excpet for the part when it disapears? Really. Really DC.

On a side note the chum cannons were sweet. Same as that huge slick.

Was it 100% fake? Like obviously all the action sequences were just drama, but what about all the facts they referenced? The U-Boat picture, the tooth that was carbon dated to 10,000 years? Is there actually any evidence that this creature could still exist? Or is it just a "we can't prove it doesn't" thing.

"Facts" I'd have to hear the same facts from a reputable organization.

This picture IMO is 100% fake. Looks more like a painting. Definitely not from the camera that chick was holding nor was it from her vantage point atop the hill looking down. This is damn near level with the water.

As for this one I'm unsure. Old and fuzzy so it would be easy to manipulate the photo and put the shark there but cant find this picture anywhere with the shark gone. Not many U-boat pictures out there so if this is an edited one I should be able to find the host photo.

The ocean is so huge and vast. I would say its more of a we can't prove its not there.

I like to think it could still exist. Havent seen the documentary, if you can call it that, but I want to eventually.

It's fake and it really needs to stop. It's just like the mermaid "shockumentary/mockumentary." I had so many people I know post something along the lines of "I can't believe mermaids are real!"

Granted they are a little convincing since they are on the Discovery Channel, but the drama is totally fake and the "Professors" and "Witnesses" are just actors. (I'm talking about the mermaid on primarily because I haven't seen the Shark one).

They are entertaining, but I don't think they should air them as truth. I don't know how they would do that as a big disclaimer would ruin the "experience" but misleading people is just wrong.

This is coming from a person who enjoys watching UFO/Bigfoot stories and such

The Megalodon is an old species of shark. They DID exist, and you can find their teeth on ebay. Whether there is one or two still chillin in the unsearched depths is another matter entirely. Mermaids never existed.

I know that. Just like how "Bigfoot" actually existed as Gigantopithecus about 100,000 years ago.

Like I said I didn't watch it, but I've read the upset reviews about it.

If it was anything like the mermaid one it is more about falsifying the evidence that makes me upset about it.

Edit:
That being said, I would like proof that these creatures existed up to this point in time; I am not dismissing it, but this "documentary" is just misleading.

At least with the mermaid one and the dragon one from years back it was very clear that these creatures could not/do not exist not matter what "evidence" they fabricated. Since megalodon was a real animal I think this show has caused far more confusion. The whole thing, apart from the poorly dramatized expedition parts, seemed at least somewhat plausible. They really needed to have a 10 minute add on at the end to really clarify the facts. Could also cause confusion over other Discovery Channel shows as to how far dramatized, faked they are.

I think Discovery channel has branched so far from the truth with all their crap lately. Same with history channel. Its all bs fake dramas for entertsinment without really teaching anything. Every once in a while something comes on but its few and far between when it does. So sad. America is stupid and wants brainless comedy and now our historical and scientific channels have jumped on the bandwagon.

They gotta do what they have to to survive as a TV show... there are plenty of other channels people could watch^

Yeah, that sucks. I remember 10 years ago when there was meaningful stuff on those channels. Like 80% is over dramatized crap now. I understand though that that's what the general population wants so the TV channels have to go that way, but it still sucks to see. :( My family cancelled our cable about two years ago now and we don't feel like we are missing anything.

History channel 2 is now playing what the history channel used to play 10 years ago. Oh wait. I have to pay extra money for some bonus package to get that channel.

Same here, gradually started to have to get more and more specialty packs to get the same stuff until we just said enough is enough and cancelled the whole thing.

Until they start selling channels individually I will not waste money on cable/satellite.

Me and the wife were just talking about. You should be able to select the channels you want and pay for those. Obviously the new channels would be yhe cheapest and hbo and aluke channels would be the expensive ones. You would be able to build a package that fits your likes for an affordable price.

Man I need to start a cable company.

Yeah, I understand that back in the day before digital cable it was technologically difficult to have every house have a different set of channels, now days though, with digital boxes and all, there is no reason other than $$$ to not allow people to pick and choose. Just so they can unload crap channels along with the "good" ones. Like to get the NASCAR in-car channels, I had to order the "super sports pack" which included 50+ channels of ten other sports I never watch. Just before we cancelled, with the way the packs were organized, we ended up having close to 900 channels, or which we probably watched ~30.

Really, these days, you should be able to just subscribe to channels from their websites. Go to the discovery channel website let's say, like some sports leagues have, and be able to subscribe for X amount of time to a livestream of the channel.

[/rant] :p
