Measuring superpulsed lasers

Some medical lasers are being marketed at superpulsed, for instance with a 20 watt peak power but average power of only 20 mw.
Duty cycle % is less than %0.1 (1/1000 or less).
How in the hell would you ever go about measuring one of these things?
Pulse frequency is 30000 Hz.

That depends what you are measuring.
Pulse width?
Peak power?
Wavelength?
Polarization?
Transverse mode?
Frequency?

Thanks for the response.
I suppose my question is what model of LPM would provide such high frequency (nanosecond) resolution as well as being able to resolve maximum power.

I get the feeling it is just a matter of trusting the seller.
