Usually the reason it goes well is because the person buying it has no idea if they are actually getting the correct thing. They look at it and say it looks like what's in the auction so they leave positive feedback then don't get around to using the item until a couple weeks or so later. At that point they realize that they got crap that doesn't do what they intended and have no path of recourse to return the item and get their money back. Many of the items he has gotten from Boston Laser he is selling as something completly different. To him, all of the IR diodes are exactly 808nm and "perfect for replacing a pump diode" when they are really 835nm diodes intended for plate setters which made up a large portion of the company's products.
