I just hooked up my DIY 803t module to a transformer 240V to 6V@300mA... and pop goes my diode :'( what went wrong? What current do batteries normally give?

You mean that you sent 300mA through the diode? :o If that is the case, you simply gave it too much current.

Then that's 300mA, because the driver is in series with the diode, right? Also was it DC?

yeah if you hooked it to a plain transformer you just sent AC current through it :o

output is 6VDC@ 300mA... i did read the transformer before hand

no no no.... 300mA through a driver and then to the diode

What driver are you using? What current is IT set at? Is everything soldered well?

Peace,
dave

Using a Mosfet driver its in the experiment section... it has been working all week on batteries and now with the transformer on it blew the diode, wanted to use it in my scanner :'(
