hi all.
got my first laser. well second really. i had a 5mw from ebay that was fun but only lasted about a week before it was super weak.
got my new one from lazerer. its a 100mw lzsk.

they didnt send out a batery even tho i order it with one. which they dont seem to want to refund me.

ive been out and got 2 x cr123 to replace the 1x 18650.

is this okay? it works, but i think im puttung 6volts into it now?? rather than 3.7

ive got some 18650s now but have no adapter for the changer.

also the box it came in was pretty battered and the plastic bag they post it in was opened as if never sealed.

the laser its self doesnt seem to be much brighter than my 5mw one when working fully. the overall feel of it feels better and the 'dot' is more focused.

it seems to be having trouble cutting very thin black plastic bags too. i thought that it should manage that pretty easily??

sorry if this is all simple stuff and boring stuff!

thankks

Hi ,

A 100mW laser should be able to burn a match and put holes in black plastic bags very easily.

It might be an under spec laser.

About the 2x 16340 ... it can burn this laser. These modules take 3V-5V. 6V+ will kill the driver / diode at some point.

thanks for the info on the batterys!
ive taken them out. will have to source a adaptor!

bit of a disappointment about the power tho. :undecided:

What kind of 18650 did you get and how well has it been charged?

EDIT: just read you have no adapter for the charger... so we can assume the 18650s are not charged, hence low output.

Charge it first then try the laser again.

i got ultra fire brc 18650 4000mah. ive ordered an adapter for the charger now.

however, the laser was still struggling with the bin bag when i had the cr123's in it.

i know next to nothing with electrics, but because i was using to much voltage could that have some how reduced the power lol?

Sorry to say it but you bought a low end laser from a horrible company and then paired it with the worst batteries on the face of the earth. Invest some money into name brand batteries and start saving for a better laser. Its not worth returning that laser since Max probably won't send you a new one

what batterys would you recommend?
im not sure i will save up for another :(
just wanted it for a bit of fun nothing to major. but obveusly if i can improve it with batterys then i will give it ago

going a bit off topic but got the panasonic today and it doesnt say 'panasonic' anywhere.
should i complain to the seller?
its light purple in colour tho

95% of the Panny cells will not say Panasonic on them. Guessing you bought a CGR18650E

its a ncr18650a
supposedly,
out of curiosity, where you recommend purchasing from. i see there is quite a few threads on this already but you seem to knowledgeable and respond fast lol.

Well stateside there is illumination supply. They are great guys and stock both normal panasonics and rebranded ones. Both are good (I think the rebranded are keeppower) and the product page should say what cell is used inside

Overseas is more of a crap shoot. You have banggood that I have used before and fasttech. Fasttech tends to have them in stock less and every now and then doesnt ahip your order for some reason, maybe high volume of orders maybe they have a bad system, idk

I suggest illumination supply. Calvin and craig are great guys and if you have any issues or questions they reply quickly

just thought i would post a little update. tried lighting several types of matches with this laser with the panasonic batterys in its not lighting any of them.
really disappointed. going to email them and see what they say, although its been along time since i got it now so not expecting much.
