Looking for a 100mw 532nm laser.

Hi guys i asked Max about splitting package in two he said he could. Should i go ahead with this, this is what he replied.

Hi Chirag,

No problem will ship the item according to your instruction. However according to our shipping policy all the issue caused by custom such as tax and duty, or even confiscated is buyer own risk if they decided to try importing the laser inside their country even though they know it is banned. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Max,
LAZERER.com

Normally I'm all in favor of lazerer, but in this case it doesn't seem like a great idea. Max is very honest, and good to deal with, but he's also straight forward about customs... if your laser gets confiscated, you're out of luck.

So it really depends on luck...

In your situation, what I would do is ask Max to take the laser apart as much as possible, and ship the parts completely separate in at least two, maybe even three packages. Mark the packages as cheap gift, and flashlight parts.

Obviously also ask to make sure the company name does not not appear anywhere on the package, as I would imagine it's a huge red flag... not sure if that's something Max can do though.

You may be better off/safer checking out one of jayrob's green kits. A laser module by itself should make it through no problem.... as will the kit.

Max is a great guy indeed, he responds to each and every query and it usually doesnt take more than one day.. you should ask him to hide the company name, Lazerer or otherwise Mark the product as a 3~5mW laser ..customs dont keep lpm or do they :S

Uhm... australia has a ban on any pointers over 1mW:whistle:

Yeah exactly, but you're still missing the point.. thats not my point..

No, I'm not. It's in the post directly above yours already.

My point in quoting you however is that asking to label a handheld laser as 3mW or 5mW for australia is a bad idea. Hence the bold and red.

Also if customs have a reason to suspect an item, YES they can LPM the laser.

Besides, they don't need to know the exact output of a given laser, they only need to know it's over 1mW to confiscate. No LPM is required for that at all.

Yeah... it didnt help either.. they have lpm's , they are classic!
Anyways good luck mpwn~
