Looking for 473nm labby for RGB set up

So at the end of the month I'm going to start putting money away for a 473nm labby.  While I wont be buying for a long time, I want to know what exactly I should be buying and what prices are at those options.

If I didn't want it for an RGB set up, to me I would be looking for CW, good divergence, beam diamater, stability etc.  But I never realised the specifications for an RGB set up were that more precice to get a good mix of colours.  I don't want to spend an insane ammout of money, in the end I'm not looking for a top end spec set up, but I'm not looking for a DX style set up either.  I want to meet right in the middle as far as quality and affordability goes, as one it's easier on the pocket and two I doubt I would ever use it at top, proffesional shows.

Going from the ratio 1:2:4, I figured 100mW blue would be sufficiant for a decent set up.  I alrady own a 40mW blue so I know what to expect from 50mW, 100mW would be the obvious for me to get.  But there's so many places out there and so much to take into concideration I'm lost as where to start.  I know the ammount of time and money that goes into a project like this so it's an obvious long term commitment, but I need to get an even more realistic view to get a good idea on exactly how much I'll need to spend.

Here are some places I've been looking at... Any input is appreciated.

high price/high quality

Imo the laserglow module would probably give you the best quality for the price. When you use the LPF discount code it takes off a couple hundred dollars. You can also check out lasershowparts.com for bargain modules.

Thanks.

try laserwave and cni
So you think CNI would be a plausable option? It's by far the best price... So, what about the analogue modulation? In what capacity should be concidered for a set up like this?

Buying from CNI direct is cheaper than from lasershowparts even after the bank fees and shipping charges. I paid $980 after all was said and done for my 500mW 532 thats on its way.

Yeah direct from CNI is the best bet. Ava will hook you up ;D

Hey Climbak, what was the average power on your .5W you ordered? Something like 650mW? And for under $1000 all said and done!!

Was that sarcasm or seriousness? Can't quite tell over the old internet thing.

Yup, the test results I got from CNI showed an average power of 682mW over 2000 data points spanning a half hour. The power stability was 1.45%. I only ordered a 500mW 10% stable unit so I would say it's well over spec and hopefully will last me for a good amount of time. Ava definitely provided top service and I would recommend going through her from a business/service standpoint. The laser gets here Tuesday morning according to Fedex and I'll write up a complete review after I've had some time to play with it and run my own power tests.
