Hey guys,

Anyone selling low-power (under 200 mW) single-mode 460 nm blue laser diodes?
I need 10-20 of these!

Thanks,

Why 460nm specifically over 450nm? Or, why single mode over multimode?

The only commercial single mode 460nm diodes are 50mW and around $500. TopGaN is the manufacturer and they do not produce large scale batches.

450nm diodes and multimode 460nm diodes are far cheaper and more available. It's probably more cost effective to buy the 450's in bulk, bin them by wavelength yourself and just use the high wavelength ones.

That's what I have done so far. The 450 nm lasers I have all show lower than 450 nm. For my color illumination, I need higher blues. I like closer to 465 nm even better. It needs to be single-mode since I'm illuminating a diffraction grating.
I have a few TopGan 460 lasers, but super expensive (around $750).

I see. You may need to look into additional optics to tune diodes with a diffraction grating beforehand.

Is @Singlemode Laser still around here? I believe he's the expert in this department.

Hey you know I saw some on ebay going for a couple hundred for 50 of them. They are early Osram engineering samples with a wavelength of 450-460typ 3.8mm

I saw something like that too, but it was more like 650-660 and 5 mw.
