What's the lasing threshold current of the LOC diode? I'm setting up a flexmod that is driving two LOCs in series, so im planning on multiplying the current by two for the bias setting on the flexmod

Putting 2 diodes in series means you don't double the current. If you're putting 2 diodes in series, you need double the voltage but you need the exact same current from the driver.

In series, voltage adds and current is the same everywhere.
 
I guess I will need to run a few tests with the flex mod and up the current a bit each time until the diode starts lasing. Also, I thought that the flexmod regulates the voltage so the current stays the same. If one of the LOCs turns into an LED, will it lover the voltage fast enough to prevent the other diode form dying?
 
This is kind of tricky. If one of the two LOC fails the other LOC might get twice the power and it will also fail.

True in parallel, not true in series. That's probably the best reason to run series instead of parallel if you're going to put multiple diodes on one driver. It's a constant-current driver. In series, the total current coming out of the driver is the exact current going through both diodes. Even if one stops lasing, the current won't increase, the other diode will be fine.

If you had your diodes in parallel and one died, the story might be different, but this is talking about series.
