Nice start, Corey. I look forward to seeing this list fill out and become a great place to get comprehensive information on available drivers.

Nice work --excellent format--looking very good thus far.
Don't forget member astralist's new drivers-- maybe PM him for details or find them in one of his threads.

Yeah, it's great that astralist stepped in to pick up the slack. I need to test several of his drivers, but not up to the task just yet. Hopefully soon.

I see many of his drivers already on the OP. That's great. I hope he'll be able to keep up with demand.

Cheers everyone

The format is the stricky part, still alot of work to do. Honestly i want this thread to be pretty simple.
I was even considering having no specs on the drivers here, but just listing them with a link and price. However so far the current format looks good.

I've decided on a few pre-requisites before the driver can be listed:
-only include drivers that are known &/or tested to a certain degree by a member with posted results
-has a link to a current sales page, on LPF or the web.

So some of Astralists drivers don't qualify for now as they are not available just yet :)

And....this thread will work great if we all can work together, so if anyone finds a driver that meets the prerequisites above, post away :D and ill add it in. Also would be great if that member can use the above "layout" for the specs that i've just posted in the second post.

Re: List of Drivers - Available/updated

Looks good, buddy. I guess the only thing I'd like to see change are the listing of prices. Some of them have hefty shipping and handling charges added on to the price. I never could figure out why a driver that could fit in an envelope and weighs less than a gram needs $3.50 for shipping.

I've never understood this fact either Paul, not sure why the chinese sellers like Techhood/Newgazer can offer free postage on drivers and small items, but other companies can still charge up to $12 for international postage....drivers almost weigh less than the envelope

:bumpit: Any more CC drivers out there members? :D

Edit: might be abit confusing adding in postage costs to the OP, as it will differ for different locations

About those shipping, i couldnt comprehend it either,
The cheapest overseas shipping from Postindonesia costs $5-$12 (registered airmail)
how can anyone give free shipping (???)

If it's china (like from aliexpress) i heard that all sellers/trader in China have their overseas shipping subsided by their government (???)

When my friends is in China, he couldnt find those "subsided shipping service" lol
I guess it's not for foreigner then..

The Chinese sellers have government subsidies for postage to anywhere in the world. I guess it's the government's way of making sure they don't have a net trading deficit.

E: Is the list for astralist's drivers complete? I think there may be one or twp more.

That explains it, thanks for the info Paul

And i believe all of Astralists available drivers are listed:

Available: Superdrive LV, Superdrive HV, Omnidrive, Generic L, Generic H.
Soon Available: Ezydrive? new Picodrive, new Superdrive V, new Superdrive LV

Don't forget the new Superdrive V ;)

About the EZdrive, it's a linear driver, i'm still wondering if people really needs a linear driver?? anyone?
The linear driver is good for a laser with Vf of <3V
And if you wish to modulate the output current (e.g driving it a 10-20kHz of PWM)
But i'm sure you know that the waste heat is higher than those switching regulator...

Thanks A,
Just edited my post above

So as it stands, is my list above what you currently offer, and will offer soon. If you have available numbers on the drivers that would be great to list here too :D

EDIT: as for the EZYdrive, not sure its so necessary if the new Superdrive LV bucks too :D, i can only see us needing a linear driver for the Red diodes (~2.5Vf) using one 4.2V cell.

Looks good, Corey. Astralist, I'd keep the linear driver around as you just never know. :yh:
