Some people have huge avatars and signatures. I think they should be restricted to a more reasonable size. Like 200x200? I don't know

I think avatars are already restricted to reasonable sizes by default. Like mine was a huge picture and it was auto resized when it was uploaded. As for sigs, I would certainly agree, there are some that are a bit much. Although it is not a whole lot, so maybe just a remind to the handful of members with gigantic ones to tone it down a little.

It's mostly the signatures. They can get pretty big.
For the avatars, They're not so bad but some of the gif ones bug me.

what are the anime girls boobies doing??

I got a pm some time ago that my sig was getting too big, so I toned it down right away.

Hey potatorage........ your Avatar is too small...
I can barely see them bouncing...
There should be limit to how small you can make your Avatar...:crackup::crackup:

Lol it was bigger but it auto resized smaller :(

Signature size has come up before. Avatars don't bother me. What's worse than either of those (if having to scroll through reruns while reading a thread is why you brought this up) is HUGE pics that activate the horizontal scroll bar, and worse, people who QUOTE the HUGE pics, so we have to scroll through them AGAIN.

yep, I size my photos at a maximum of 800 pix wide.

Using the forum gallery will auto size them, Photobucket does not.

Since I have the appropriate software I also crop out unwanted background clutter.

That's odd. I thought the VB limits on pictures were 800x600, and it does *not* auto-resize, which annoys me on a regular basis... Maybe these people were linking to pics they upload elsewhere.

The 800x600 thing bugs me a great deal, I haven't had a monitor in the last decade that wasn't capable of at least 1280x1024, it seems like an awfully low arbitrary limit.

Yes it really bugs me when everyone quotes a huge picture i think we can get by without that a simple @[insert name here] would do fine

BTW hilarious avvy psudolobster

On another forum, the general guideline was that if your signature is larger than your post, it's probably too large.

We could solve this by adding in the "spoiler" plugin for vBulletin - it'd allow us to write our laser collections into a box that can expand and contract by clicking a button.

Using the tag to display images from a different URL there are no size limits.

So your "maybe" is a certainly........;)

Or just not list every laser you own...
