likeitbright's 300mw small red laser

Some of you guys may already know the trouble i had with this laser.
maby you can find a old review ive done some time ago on this forum.

The point is, the laser has crappy battery life.
While trying to sell it on this forum no one wanted it because its battery life, but people said the battery life was not really something that should be normal.

So i contacted the creator, and he said i could use these batteries:
DealExtreme: $5.34 TrustFire Protected 14500 3.7V 900mAh Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (2-Pack)

while the laser was shipped with these, and thats the only batteries ive been trying to use.
DealExtreme: $5.03 UltraFire Protected 10440 3.6V 500mAh Batteries (2-Pack)

Would buying the recommended batteries solve my problems? :)
 





Are you sure that the laser is able to take 14500 batteries instead of 10440 batteries? I never saw that before :thinking:

he said most of his builds used it. i replied back about the batteries im using now, but no response yet.

Would be awesome if 5 bucks of couple batteries could fix the problems about the battery life though :)
 
im pretty sure that host only takes 10440's

are you using those trustfire 10440's ? those are known to suck like hell.. maybe 250/300mah

perhaps better quality batteries like AW would help
 
not much protected 10440 afaik only those CrappyFire ones that DX and such sells, i also found these : LiMN IMR 10440 3.7v 350mAh High Drain Rechargeable Battery - VaporFlow i dont know these, looks like the same as AW

btw do you happen to have unprotected 10440's on hand, i once read somewhere that those protected ones lose their power faster than the unprotected ones

i looked abit further and it seems that those blue protected 10440's should be decently and good:thinking:

I have 2 ultra fire TR10440 3.6v...500mah stated..no idea of true mah.
Is that also a crap battery?

By the way this is horrible. I just did a test with a fully charged battery. And it burned great. But dropped to non-burning condition within 20 SECONDS!
Thats unbearable.

No idea...il ask if likeitbright can reply here. But its been a while so im not sure if he can remember the laser he bought.
 
if it uses a flexdrive you could try to turn the pot down abit instead of 300mw you get lets say 200/250mw but much longer run times


still kinda weird that it dies in 20sec +/-
 
borgqueenx... I explained you some time ago in detail what the problem at your 300mW laser is... I don´t know why you have any doubt!? I had the same problem with a LOC diode laser some time ago, IgorT told me what was wrong. It is the same as with your laser...
 
Yes...i forwarded that story to likeitbright but he also gave me a techincal reply back...and questioned the batteries used.
To quote him:

To me likeitbright has A WAY less knowledge than he is telling you.

The laser doesn´t work as it should!

But it´s your laser... sooner or later you´re going to see that it isn´t the battery itself which is the problem here. IMO, from my experiences, your laser is directly powered by the battery.


Edit: My 324mW RC-A2 also runs on a 10440 battery, it still had the same power after about 30minutes using the same battery as you have.
