Hello all,

Well today was the day. I stopped home for lunch, and there were some packages in my mailbox...and it was good.
A 501B kit from mrcrouse, and a 455 with driver courtesy of Mr. DTR.
Yay!

A little stripping and soldering and the module was in it's new home.
I charged up the 18350's, and by gods...
...let there be light!
And it was good!
Way good!

Only a quick outdoor test though, my eye protection isn't here yet.

I wanna see what this thing can do!

Anyway...just a heads up from a new guy and a quick
thank you to you guys and this forum.
What a treasure trove of information.

I've been reading voraciously, and I think I'll be ordering up some
pieces and parts soon to build my first driver circuit.
Dammit, I know my personality...
I know me...
And I knew this would happen.

I'm hooked.

Looking forward to some pics! Be careful with that bad boy though...First 445 i got, i SEVERELY underestimated, which i found out after seeing a wood chair 15 feet away smoldering when i had it on

It was a quick on/off just to be sure I didn't cook anything.
(Inside the laser OR in my house)

Once I have my eye protection, I'll be sure to take a pic or two.

Reminds me of Raiders of the Lost Ark:
