Lazerer 100mw (Can't decide!)






Personally, I like the looks of the LZSK more than the LZCS. They are basically the same. Its up to you.
 
I'm in the same boat here, except looking at 50mW. Like Zeebit it might be the looks that take me. However, the safety features of the classic will probably sway me to get that for my first laser pointer greater than 5mW.
 
Honestly, the safety features are just a pain. The only safety feature i need is a shutter. I can pull out the battery if i dont want it to turn on.
 
yeah safety features are more of a pain than safety.......ooops you lost the key, darn now no laser for you :p plus i have the Stick and it is a solid super nice looking host. soooooo many people have the classic style, hence why it is a classic :na:
 
Just a word of caution, my 100mW stick died after 5 months of regular use. I never dropepd it/used another battery/went above the duty cycle, so you may want to be careful on that. They say Lazerer's a good company, but their warranty is just a month.

Well, not a big laser expert, but I consider regular use respecting the duty cycle right? plus is not like I used it every day all day, the most I used it was when I went to 2 friend's parties and showed it to everybody, rest of the time I only turned it on at my palce just to see how far it could go. Of course I respected the duty cycle (180 sec on, 100 off I think), I never used it for more than 40 secs because of that, I am a paranoid person :P.

Just so you can figure it out, I didn't even depleted my second charge of the battery when the laser died.

Thanks, I think I'll stick with a 50mW if I get one. Going by some reviews it'll probably end up being over-spec anyway

Another thing to point out is that I haven't tested the laser with another battery, just the chinese one Max gave me, so there's the possibility that the battery is faulty, who knows.

I'm buying some panasonics to double check this thing, I'll let you know if it was just the battery or the laser is genuinely dead.
 
whatever you end up getting, GET THE POWER CERTIFICATE! you may think well its $5 for a piece of paper, well yeah it is but the information on it is very important. he will meter the physical output of YOUR laser and it will also tell you how much of the power is 532nm and how much is IR. IR is a killer so it is very important to know how much IR you are dealing with :)
 
I actually greatly prefer the LZCS style. The keys you can buy another if you ever lose one. The one big downside IMO is that you have to keep holding down the button... of course this also means if you drop the laser or something, you won't risk catching a reflection.

The HL lasers from Skylasers are the best option IMO in design.

The LZSK is also perfectly serviceable though.

Please do that would be good information to consider
 
I would really like the buy from optotronics, but all they sell are the AAA pens and they are cool; however I like the fact that the "fat" stick lasers from lazerer use the powerful/high capacity batteries. It looks like the LZSK is my perfect match (and its in stock)
