I think they suffer catastrophic damage before turning red. ::)

I've used my 250mw 532, (with safety glasses on me and my daughter), to heal her acne faster. I did a treatment of about three "ouch, that burns". The next day the the pimple comes to a head and goes away. I have found healing infection in cuts is very effective and speeds the healing process.
