Lasers 101?

Hi all, I'm new to the forums and to laser pointers in general. I was hoping that someone here could point me in the direction of a good resource for learning the terminology and basics of laser pointer assembly? For example: I don't know what a "pot" is and I don't know what basic components make up a laser pointer. I'd like to make my own laser pointers but don't know where to begin.

Pretty sure this is what you're looking for, I found it in about 2 seconds by using the search bar here on the forum and suggest you associate yourself with the search bar, posting in months old threads and asking about things that are easy to find is frowned upon here.
