LaserBee I-X 2.1W LPM review

You are very kind Sir, tomorrow we will talk via pm :)

I'll sit down and write something up in Eclipse. It'll log and generate a *.csv that you can use to build a graph in a program like Excel (or an Apple equivalent).

Graphing I'll write when I have more time on my hands. :)

Let's be fair here, nobody write software for Macs. :p

There's not even a Mac version of Luminosity... ;)

Unfortunately, I only use Macs and I can not connect my LaserBee, so for now I use it only "directly" :(

Hey Arayan....

You could find a used Windows compatible Computer/Laptop with a
Serial or USB port for about $50.00... and sometimes people give the
old ones away because it's too much trouble to throw them away..

The Data Logging Software on the LaserBee CD works on Windows
versions from Win 98 all the way up to Win7...
Then you will have a dedicated Laser Power Meter with computer Data Logging.;)

@ steviedezie.... N/P... just ask if you need anything else...

Jerry

Wow Jerry, what a way to treat someone who was helping out one of your customers....

Also, telling a customer to buy a computer due to lack of software support? Really?

yes, you're right, but in this way I need so much space ;)

Nice try MM....

Does your LPM work on a MAC.....

Oh yeah... it doesn't have data logging...
Shouldn't you be building Alphas....;)

Ouch, That hurt reading it from my end. I'm Glad "Someone" Helped you out at least...

EDIT: You should be happy someone helped him.

Nice Review, Laserbee does make a good product.

Then you must be a MAC user.....
I don't see an Ouch as you pointed out....

I was upfront with the customer with the fact that the
Software was only Windows compatible....
The customer knew that prior to purchase and was fine
with that....

With that post... I gave him an inexpensive solution
to be able to use the full Data Logging Feature of his
LaserBee if he so chooses..

Does all your software work on both Windows and MAC....
(remember VHS....BETA....)

Or have you made a choice....

Well, I'll finish up what I'm working on anyway. It's a lightweight program (emphasis on lightweight) that will just grab timestamps and power values as they come in, so the user can save them as a *.csv (or similar) and process them in a program of their choice. Not feature-rich, but it's better than nothing.

If the native library for serial is there, it will work on all platforms that have Java. :)
