LaserBee 2.5 USB on Win 8

Had the same problem with my Laserbee too, conacted Jerry and they offered to replace my Profilic Chip for free but shipping it both ways to Canada costs more than my unit! :p
After days of searching for a solution I found this (Left Brain Tinkering: USB to Serial (Prolific 2303) Device Cannot Start (Code 10) in Windows 8) and it works like a charm since then!

Have a nice day,
Jim

Thanks Jim,

But I tried that and even tough I installed the driver properly (no yellow question mark on device manager), I couldn't get my Laserbee to work (it says 'No Signal').

:thanks:

Win 8.1 (64bit).

:thanks:

Yes, win8.1 64bit.

I stopped using my prolific adapter and went
arduino usb2serial adapter.
Problem fixed

The yellow mark is indicating that no driver could be found or updated for the chipset in your adapter.
Same in my case. The Prolific adapter has been long since discontinued (technically retired in 2009)
The Prolific however will work on Linux and MacOSX without any issues. No driver needed.
