hello, i have heared that ultraviolet rays cause skin cancer and cataract so will 405 nm wavelenght laser harm me, are there any chances that i will get a skin cancer? uva lasers which cause skin cancer is from 315 to 400 nm, 405 nm is only 5 nm longer that 400 so is it harmful?

A 5nm wavelength would mean X-rays, so yes, you'd probably want to avoid those.

no i mean uv is from 315 to 400 nm I have 200 mw 405nm laser and it is known as violet or near ultraviolet laser and is 5 nm that much to change 400nm ultraviolet to 405nm violet/near uv

Unless you are focusing it on your skin you get more uva if you go stand in the sun for 10 minutes. I wouldn't worry about it.

Even UVA is relatively harmless. Black lights for example are UVA. It can "age" the skin in large enough doses, but it's UVB and UVC that are the dangerous ones that cause burns and cancer.
