Laser Popcorn?

I did a search on "popcorn," but it didn't turn up any relevant results.

I've seen lots of laser videos where balloons are popped, electrical tape is cut, and puddles of liquid fuels are ignited. What I'm curious to know is if anyone has managed to pop a kernel of popcorn with a laser? I realize this might take some experimentation—the right frequency and power to pop rather than burn, on top of the fact that the shiny shell of the corn might be a little hazardous.

Has anyone done this, or know of it being done?

(I know, it would be about as efficient as using a cluster of lasers to produce fusion.)

I found a few examples by searching "popping corn with lasers", using the search at the bottom of the page.
Here is one of the threads. There is also one on youtube from Mythbusters, although I couldn't get it to work for me.
It can be done, but it looks like a real PITA! :D
 
Thanks, guys. I guess "popcorn" wasn't specific enough. On a site like this, adding the word "laser" seemed redundant.

And I was right—about as efficient as using a cluster of lasers to produce fusion energy. Or using an Arctic III as a flashlight...

How about wave motion gun popcorn?
 
I've seen it a couple of times, but you can just pop one at a time, one video they wraped it in a piece of foil and heated it with the laser and that worked. Maybe you could put some in a pan in oil and point a CO2 laser at it, that would be an interesting experiment, I don't know if it would work or not.

It can be done I saw a few s3 Arctic pop a popcorn
 
I have done it but only get about half the kernel popped. I'll upload the video of it if I can find it. I used a 3w 445nm really unfocused, leaving focused just burns kernel in seconds. Also you have to oil the kernel
