Laser pointer issues

Oh and I forgot to mention: My laser uses 2 16340 1300mah 3.7 batteries. The blue ones without brand

You can add this information to the post before it using the edit button, rather than making a new post to add it. Please do that in the future.

As encap said, try sanwu or jetlasers, thought I'm not sure if they ship to your location. If you choose to buy from one of those stores, make sure you get safety goggles as well.

Since the batteries you described sound cheap, I'd try a new pair. You can get high quality batteries here:

Liionwholesale is where I get my batteries. They have the best price for new batteries than any other place I've ever used. They are brand new from the manufacturer and always test to at or above rated capacity with excellent internal resistance readings.

Well Thank you for your quick response
Before I turn on my 450nm blue laser it feels really cold and when I turn it on for the first 30 seconds it is so bright but then it loses its power even when it’s still cold
moham, can you show a pic or at least a link of this laser..
Thinking it's a Thor or a gattling gun type unit?

Since this takes two 16340 batteries, it is not going to be a 532nm laser. Those all take just one Li-ion battery. The Vf of the 808nm pump diode is very low, so they never use 8.4 volts input.

I bought a 532 nm pointer which used two of those same batteries once, the listing specified them and they worked fine, the driver took the extra voltage without a failure, but I think he should have spec’d a single longer battery, worked fine that way too.

That might be the problem if 532 nm, driver doesn’t like 8+ volts. Maybe his driver heats too much and chokes. Likely his driver has problems running two batteries, like you said, or not 532 nm.

Now mohammed, you're double posting.
This is also frowned upon and will get you negative reps quickly.
Don't double post, use the ecit button to combine your posts.

Well, not DPSS 532.

Edit: just saw this:

@Alaskan Do you mean that I can use one 18650 or such batteries instead of two 16340

No, your laser is 450 nm blue, correct? Then two batteries makes sense, that diode needs more voltage than a DPSS IR pumped pointer.

That particular host is likely able to be focused by rotating a section at the head or toward the middle, just past the head. You should try to rotate these sections and see if it won't change the focus. If it does, point it at a beam stop at least 7 meters away and focus it down to the smallest spot.

Well after some research I found out that genuine 16340 battery weighs 20g, mine weighs 14g so most likely it’s a battery related issue. Also, 16340 batteries can’t handle more than 800mah where my batteries are rated 1300mah

Sounds like what you are using are rewraps. Could be any tiny battery inside them. You definitely need to get some new batteries with actual ratings on them. I'd stay away from no name and any kind of "xxxfire" brand batteries.

There is more than one possibility for why that could happen, choose what you think fits best.

I would still try a new battery. If you stick around in this hobby, you'll find yourself needing it.
