Laser diode driver

How to determine the right driver for my diode
Which specification should I look for
Like if my diode is 150mw working voltage is 5-5.5v and current is I<140ma
So I should look for a driver that gives 5v output and can give the same amount of current and that’s it?
Or should look for something else
Side question when do I need a heat sink for a laser diode
Thanks

When do you need a heat sink? When the diode is on.

that’s not what I meant
What I meant is like for example some builds I’ve seen doesn’t add a heat sink
for example 100mw build didn’t have a heat sink
And other build he added a heat sink

You'll need a heatsink regardless of output power electronics are very inefficient and all the wasted energy guess what it is Heat. Just the aixiz module/housing is already a heatsink so the correct question is how big of a heatsink you'll need and the answer is it depends on how inefficient you're diode is.

With the info you provided I would get a heatsink that can dissipate 0.8W of power or more.
