laser capable of cutting 6mm white depron

you could get something like a flat bed plotter and modify it, that could work ;)

He doesn't want to engrave car doors :o No need for that much power :o

80 Watts?
Damn. That is a LOT of power.
What if you hook up a black marker to the laser, so when it makes a cut it draws a black line ahead of the beam?
That might make it easier to cut through. With a couple watts.
Maybe not quite 80...
You may be able to find a ~12 inch CO2 tube. That would give you maybe 8-10 Watts, I think.

EDIT: Or you could take your foam to a lab that would let you use their laser and have them help you program it to cut out your shapes.

The marker thing would be cool but it would make it harder to build.

i dont think that would work. once the laser burned off the marker then its back to the white foam...

Why not just buy black foam??? if they make it...

you spend thousands of extra dollars on a laser to cut white foam when you could use a much lower power laser to cut foam that is maybe 20 to 30 dollars extra a sheet.

Either way, this is a job for a water jet! im sure you could easily make a strong enough jet to cut foam from a 3000+ PSI pressure washer pump w

My Sky 808nm +1600mW laser can create a flame on the white walls in my apartment.  I will try to cut a white styrofoam cup this weekend and let you know what happens.  I hope it doesn't catch on fire . . . .

Looking forward to your next post.
