The way I see it, luck only goes for so far, and stupid people unfortunately use up theirs real quick. That guy did it several times, and who knows how many times before, and he eventually got caught. He had too many chances getting away with it, but I guess nobody explained to him that the green laser makes a beam that puts a clear indication better then a flare to his exact location.
People will stop being stupid in general and stop shining lasers at various aircrafts once they stop thinking inside their own boundaries, and not be only concerned with themselves, or amusement they might find for themselves without thinking about others. Because, I’m sure if he knew that he would end up there, he would probably not have done it, of coarse his freedom and pain/suffering would be the motivation for him not to be so stupid, but if he was driven from respect and consideration that it is an impolite thing to do, then it wouldn’t be so hard to reject temptation.
Einstein said: There are two things that are infinite; the Universe, and Human stupidity. And I’m not sure about the Universe.
I don’t think we’ll see that change in our life time.
Lasers can obviously be very intervening and it’s really unfortunate that the people who really respect them and use them safely and correctly (us) will suffer once these things become banned, and I’d be willing to bet that it’s gonna happen in the US pretty quick here… A law designed to limit the freedom of stupid people who do stupid things with these, “narrowing freedoms”.
Did you check out all the comments?
That’s another thing that gives me grief, not necessarily the comments from this article, but judging from everybody’s intelligent respectful comments on you tube videos, and such, well it looks like idiarcacy is dominating.
