Acronym.
L.A.S.E.R., Light Amplified by Stimulating Emission of Radiation
Yeah lol I had to look up what acronym meant. I need to keep myself updated on everything, I feel like everybody else is learning stuff and I'm not.

It also doesn't help when they get the words making up the acronym wrong. Demerits for "Amplified" and "Stimulating"

True, it originally was an acronym but that has gone the way of the horse and buggy since at least the 1970s. and has entered the lexicon as a regular word commonly used instead of as an acronym.
Is used as a word and/or an acronym these days.
