The KTP crystal has a small corner missing, this indicates the orientation crystal planes, although I don't know how. All optics need to be coated, unless you fire a megawatt pulse through KTP, but you'd want it coated anyway.
A yag rod AR coated on both sides just needs a mirror set to form a cavity, crystals only have the HR coatings on small systems, any larger systems has everything AR coated and a few "real" mirrors.
