this one:
Welcome to focalprice.com | The lowest Price for DS R4 lite,PSP Slim,Genuine Earphone,SONY EX71 EX082?PS2,Macbook Accessories etc.
my main criteria were that it took AA batteries and was cheap.

i thought i'd start a thread, just in case anyone had any questions.

in general i'm very pleased with it. googled for a voucher code so paid $36, it arrived in a week, to the UK which is good considering the icelandic volcano.

it's a nice solid construction. doesn't rattle at all. i have no way of testing the power but it's a lot brighter than my previous 50mW lasers.

i'm not sure how divergent the beam is meant to be, but i measure it at about 2.5mRad

here's a pic.

It looks nice for the cost... but I would be surprised for that price
that it would output anything near the specs..
Would be nice to stick it on an LPM...

BTW....

How did you sneak it past customs? I heard the UK is one of the most hardest countries to get lasers imported.

yeah i know. but like a say compared to the pen type 50mW lasers i've had before it's considerably brighter. In a sense if they are 5mW and this is 20mW i'm not fussed. i've still got what i was expecting.

it burns the foam it came in, burns through tape and what have you.

i'm not too fussed about the divergence. but i presume the center screw shown below is the focusing?? (excuse camera phone pics)

the reason i'm not bothered about the divergence is it's still less divergent than my eye so the spot still seems smaller the further away it is, and it's not a weapon, so it's probably a bit safer.

I've never had a problem, and i've bought a few. there's a big backlog of airmail at the moment because of the volcano, so maybe they're rushed off their feet. I wasn't sure what the law is to be honest.

2.5 mrad :) They worked a lot on the divergence :D

i'm sure that's really funny if only i got the joke.

^^this looks it's pwred at around 100mW
^yes, that's the focusing screw, theoretically you can change focus point/divergence by turning it. but be careful not to scratch the lens!

btw these pics are the best mobile phone pics I've ever seen!!!

Yeah... what type/brand/model of cell phone are you using...
The pic is very clear and focused...

If your Laser burns tape and you are happy with it.. then it was a
good investment...

maybe he has a small magnifying lens glued in front of camera, so he has an hardware super-macro mode :) (I'm sometimes using this mod)

Don't think so, technically lasers aren't illegal in the UK just they prevent people selling lasers over 1mW under the food and trading's act.

Nice deal for the money for sure. I'd say youv'e had overall good luck all the way around. As far as camera phones you must have a sony:)

1000... YEA baby! whoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Phone is Nokia N97, it's in the EXIF data on the large image under the first image. TBH it's a bit hit and miss, you need a lot of light. i went into the conservatory to take that picture. it has a decent macro mode, but i lucked out a bit the full close up picture is here if anyone is interested. http://i40.tinypic.com/34ydyt2.jpg

if you look at the top one you'll see the background is over exposed.

yeah i'm happy with the laser. i realise it's not perfect, but in terms of bang for buck i think it was quite a good deal.

it takes a few seconds to warm up too. but such is life.
