Just ordered a Lazerer Rifle445 nm-1W

So you were burning without goggles... Well, at least you weren't pointing it at planes.

yeah who cares about UV that wont do shit with a 445nm laser you need to not burn anything until u get yourself a pair of safety goggles :tsk::tsk:

Well i am not stupid, i have burning only few seconds and with good sunglasses, ok i know that's not good but it's better than nothing no ? It was only for trying.
On the other hand, i'm not crazy to shine planes, especially because I live near Orly airport near Paris. At NO TIME i used my lasers outside my home. If i want use outside always i do far from here and in secures places. I am not teenager, i'm 48 years old and i work in a laboratory test, i think i have good knowledge of physics and i know what i do (sorry for my english...)

And for safety googles that were not in the case, i have notice from Max (he answer my email very quickly :yh:), it's normal because googles was out of stock when they ship me the rifle (they would not delay sending the laser), but they send me googles fews days after and normally i will receive soon.
Really i am very satisfy of service and communication from Lazerer :gj:

For the shape of the spot that I found curious, after reading the post Daguin, I now know that it is normal for 445 nm lasers, it's just different from my green laser.
I really think it's a good product and good quality for the same price as my green laser that is of poor quality (I paid way too much ignorance ... :yabbmad:)
And my next laser (red I think) I buy some at Lazerer :shhh:

Do you not understand a few seconds can blind you actually a few micro seconds can ?

Like I said sunglasses don't do shit they will actually make your eyes dialated... making damage even worse so no its not better than nothing

sorry for flaming but this is crazy.2

They do... but it's sort of like putting on a bulletproof vest to stop a cannon ball:gun::tinfoil:

Ok i know that sunglasses don't stop the beam if there's any reflection, I know I have to wear appropriate eye protection, but for now I do not, I expect the one sent me Max.
I just wanted to say that the sunglasses reduce brightness and filter a little blue, that's all, but I agree it is only a temporary solution, and until now I no longer use the laser :o

or maybe he was just holding the laser with one hand, shield his eyes from the blinding spot with his other hand, and just watched the smoke and the after burn :P

Sunglasses will do very little except to dilate your pupils. The good news is if you were over a foot away from the spot that was actually burning... and you weren't burning anything reflective, it's not likely you were getting over even 1mW of into your eyes.

very informative test your laser against Sunglasses !
I know it's unrealistic and inadequate protection in the event of accidental reflection but it reduces the brightness and the blue filter, the ones I have at least, but anyway I do not use more up to receive the glasses, hoping that they are of good quality

thankyou..

Any news as to whether it comes with an acrylic lens that has to be changed still?

Hello,
I wonder if the shape of the spot is normal when the beam is very divergent, and also there are like bubbles on the image (see photo, but it is not very visible), normal or not?

I've never seen a dot so big before.. It's almost a flashlight. lol. I would say temperature, but then again, that would explain the huge shape, it would only explain the bubbles. I am not sure what it may be.. Was it like this when you first got it?

I don't know, it's the first time i do this beam very divergent. the convergence adjustment is not fine as it is easy to get a spot as big. If it's a temperature problem I'll wait for it to cool and I would do a test, but it might not be a problem of lens?

Possibly, I'm not really the person to ask, as I have never seen anything like that before.. Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge with beam divergence might be able to give your more info.

Ok, thank's, if anyone has an idea about the issue? :thanks:
