I like light and color, not "X is better than Y."
Not attacking you but this is where you are wrong. Lasers are not just lasers. You cant say that ever laser is the same if its a 532nm or 445nm. There are many different diodes, there are different drivers, there is different optics; all which have an impact on quality. WL uses run of the mill diodes, drivers, optics. They are mass produced Chinese junk. Its hit or miss on how they will perform. You may get an overspec stud or you could get the runt of the litter.
They, from what ive seen and know, use LED drivers not laser specific drivers. Using a flashlight driver is like putting a set of used tires on your brand new BMW, its stupid and will fail sooner than later.
Optronics, CNI, LaserBTB, etc... the trusted compnaies, use higher quality parts thus higher quality lasers. Then you have hand built lasers; even higher quality (depending on the builder and parts used)
Jordan picks the best diodes to sell, sells quality LASER drivers. Cant go wrong buying from him (DTR). If you were to buy a diode from jordan and a LED driver from DX then youd be doing the same as WL does. Good parts mixed with unknown. Laser could last you 5 years, could last you 5 min!
BTW keep saying WL since thats the largest company who says they are the best and put all this false advertising out; "worlds most powerful lasers" MY A$$. Rick trent has a 40W laser kit available, so how is a 2W WL the most powerful in the world? It isnt and its false advertising to attract
FanBoys.
I am glad to see that you have bought your own laser parts and are building your own. Just because its a 520nm set at xxxmA doesnt mean its going to do 120mW. Those diodes do anywhere from 50mW to 130mW and the ONLY way to tell the power of your laser is on a LPM (laser power meter). you can go this plus this set at this = 1000mW, doesnt work like this.
Again not an attack, just spreading knowledge since it seems you were under the wrong impression
