Charge your batteries and put on protective goggles. As to the internals... just leave it be. Trying to make it more powerful is a great way to kill it.

as far as the lens goes...what's the safest way, to remove it without scratching it would a guitar pick be a handy tool? Also how recessed or deep should the lens be? i keep getting conflicting info

Actually it looks like a "Classic" host. Like this: Link.

Which means the top part can be twisted to put the lens further from the body.

Usually these are preset to be at infinity when screwed all the way in. If not, you can take off the top and adjust the lens a bit.

You can adjust the lens in the top portion which twists off, if you want to...

But don't touch the other lenses, in the body of the laser.

Thanks for your help...I still have my old host from my old pointer which is the full sized...i just ended up using the 3.7V battery and used the extra extender host piece from my old one instead of keeping it short with the small wimpy batteries that it came with.

And for the button problem..i just took a corner piece of flat packaging styrophone, and folded a little square in half and wedged it and BOOM works like a champ

Any idea why, whenever i press in the button, then push a tad harder, the brightness goes from bright, than dims, then goes back bright

Is the battery fully charged?

If yes;

Possible there is a loose contact.

Also possible that the crystals are just warming up. Defocus the laser completely, or even take the top part off, point it at a wall a few feet away, and observe... most likely you'll see mode hopping.

Howcome all these kind of lasers have wrong spelling on there labels ?
It's not the first time i see this.

Nice pointer to start with... :)
My first pointer (green) also came with the bad spelling on the label. (actually when i look at yours and now mine, they look the same lol, only the battery tube on mine can be screwed off into two pieces for different battery types) It's putting out 75mW
Now look what that first green laser did to me ^^
I became addicted.

Cheers, sm
