Great find on those batteries, I didn't even know D size Li-Ion batteries like that existed.

The build will be less work now that you don't need to modify the - end cap, or make a fiberglass tube.

What's also a strange coincidence, is that I grew up in Ontario, CA! We moved there from Honolulu when I was about 2 years old, and then moved to N. CA when I was about 7...

I grew up in Northern CA (NAPA). I don't know where Oakley is though, I'm not sure if I've ever been there.

Ah, riverside county. I actually like the desert... aside from that though, I could do without riverside county.

Oakley is not far from Napa...

Probably about 45 minutes drive south east, just over the Rio Vista bridge...

Regarching batteries, and had to come into work today, full review tomorrow for sure!

If you want to set up your own FlexModP3 driver, DTR has a tutorial shown here:

There was a little confusion on exactly what resistor to use for the V+ to Mod+ jumper, so I contacted drlava, and told him that I wanted to use a resistor that would allow either 2 X Li-Ion's, or 3 X Li-Ion's to be used. (just to avoid confusion, and set it up the same way for either build)

So that's why I use a 1.5 K Ohm 1/2 Watt resistor for this jumper...

And if you want to just print out my Word document showing the procedure, here's the file: (I borrowed a couple of pictures from DTR and put labels on them, plus a picture of my own as well)

Burn through at 45ft in about 30 - 35 seconds (The large, line shaped melted depression) AixiZ 445 lens

So nice! Congrats for the 2W power. :)

My RL-2088, from DTR, also has 2W and burns like hell and with 405-G-1 lens I can easily burn through thick plastic.

I looked forward to mine that jayrob specially designed for. gonna wait for a month before he completes mine. Hope I get the same burning power as you Liquid.
