Hey,

After playing with a Red PT-54 LED hooked up to a variable power supply, it was time for it to go into a host and who else to make a flawlessly clean build? Jayrob!

I emailed him with my intention of putting it into a 2D Maglite and he quickly replied with all the options, prices and information about the build.

I sent the LED to him, and while the LED was in shipping, he had already assembled and done all the prep work on the host which was nice.

When i received the Maglite, it was packaged well, a heap of bubble wrap and support,it also came with his own instructions and additional information about the build.

This build uses runs at 9A so it uses 2x 32650 lithium Ion batteries which came in the kit, and they where within 95% of their Vmax, so the build ran nicely straight out of the box!

Jay's attention to detail is amazing, everything was spot on about this build!

This is one of my experiences, Jayrob your an asset to LPF!

Hey thanks! Really glad you like the build. :thanks:

A little more information on the build...

It uses a high efficiency 9 Amp buck driver, aluminum reflector, and glass lens to handle the heat. Focusable too. But you will find that you won't need to focus it. It is so bright, focus not needed.

For information and details, see my tutorial thread here:

I have all the parts linked there...

The meteor-like lines in the beams are bugs flying through the beam!
