I've just joined the 405nm club boys and girls *NEW HOST, UPDATE*

NEW HOST, READ DOWN FOR IT!! :D:D:D

Yeah, ordered the parts (PHR 803T, lavadrive V2) over a year ago and FINALLY put them together today.

As you can see its not exactly finished (since my local hardware store workers failed to provide me with a switch...) however I plan on just sticking it in a small plastic container of some sort lol with a switch protruding from it (going to electrical store tomorrow...)

Powered by a single CR2 rechargable I bought with my dilda, and its got flexdrive V2 running at 100mA.

Unfortunately my camera cant pick up 405nm that well so you cant see the beautiful colour it is, however i can see the beam and all in my room with blinds shut, light off and door shut, so I think im running quite sweet :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Now for some graphics.
first pic is the setup itself (lol) and the second pic is just it on my wall

nice build now your hooked more drives - more sleds -less money in your pocket lol

Welcome to the club ! yes more diodes, more drivers, more hostes, less money hehehe
but it sure is fun !!!

Best Regards Pyro... :eg:

hahaha

unfortunately paypal has decided to be a complete and utter (not even going to put a word here because no word would explain how they acted) to me and so i can only buy stuff with google checkout...

or anything else that takes credit card lol

im hoping to get a heatsink from z-bolt

for now ive stuffed the driver and the module in a match box and have the two wires leading to the battery coming out and then i put the battery between the wires when i want to use it lol

Just get it into an aluminum tube, if you don't have the funds to do more and use electrical tape to get the batteries hooked up. Also put a momentary switch on the positive of the battery. It isn't going to last too long without a proper host and heatsink. Happy Lasing! ;-)

Welcome to the club! There really is nothing like a blast of 405nm coherent light.

Do you own a smoke machine?

ive got one of jayrob's heatsink but the host it was made for sold out, and i received the heatsink before dealextreme notified me it sold out...

i need to widen the middle of the heatsink though as i think the module is just a shade too big for it...

Welcome to the 405 club!.. Doesn't that sound like a cheap strip bar?? 405 club.... lewl.

Yep, the 405nm club is a great place to be and soon you will be saving up for an 8x build... I've been enjoyning my AW210 repair/replacement/build for weeks now. It's strange but it seems once you start making these things you get hooked on making more powerful lasers.

I was talking about the strip club in the first place... Theres another type of 405 club? :O

:D:D im such a comediant lololol

it lights matches in under a second too, which is quite surprising for me as it is running at 100mA

Haha, I just found a new host for this bad boy (intended to be temporary)

I had a box for blueberry gum on my desk, which is purple, and i though YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING

welcome to my chew-ray...

oh and you may notice that i have a battery blu tacked on with wires leading to it... this is because i do not have a switch (lol), and so i must make contact with the battery by putting the wires on each side of the battery
