Just checking for the 10th time Daedal, got me on that list for the next one right? Im nervous that school is keeping me so busy I'm gonna miss the second GB on these too!!

Hmmm, just out of curiosity; I still have the tracking status stuck on the first step, and it hasn't been updated for 4 days now.
Is this similar with more people who ordered the LPM-1 super-master-perfect-meter?

Got mine today. Thanks for organizing this. Been a while since I've had time to play with the lasers, but I briefly ran several of the green DX's I have into the meter. I was shocked by the amount of IR at 808nm, even with IR cut filters in place. I'm wondering if there's something I may be doing wrong. I can see a definite decrease in IR with my IR pass webcam when I have the filters over the laser, but the LPM doesn't seem to show much difference. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How was the packaging?
To measure the IR you need an IR pass filter so that you only measure the IR, and as one of my past reviews stated, and other will tell you in more detail, IR on a webcam seems a lot more than it really is. :-/ It could be very bright on the webcam but end up being just a few mW of actual output.
On the LPM, measuring 'IR' doesn't measure IR only, but rather calibrates the sensor to output in terms of IR values, and the same is true for all the other wavelengths. If you put a red laser and measure it with the 532nm measurement, you'll get a value, but it would be wrong
I would take a look at the nice writeup and mod that Mike did. It's an excellent way to place the filter in front of the LPM, one that I will do as well because I tested it myself and saw how good it is. ;D
Use that mod and add an IR pass, IR block, the ND-8... etc and you'll have an amazing tool that could pretty much serve all your needs perfectly!

The Schuler IR-78 IR pass has well known characteristics, which was good and made an ideal candidate for the IR pass filter. It passes about 80% IR at the 800 nm wavelength, so I get a pretty accurate IR readout from the meter with this.
The good news is that, as I've often seen Senkat say, the DX's ARE in fact pretty darn good as far as IR is concerned and none of my units appear to be leaking more than 30% without filters. With outboard filters of course this number is greatly reduced.
I'll bet much of the IR hype about these lasers stems from misuse of the meter as I initially did myself at first. Without the IR pass, most of the lasers showed nearly equal amounts of green and IR which would easily be misinterpreted as a hazardous IR emitter

I received my meter today and I want to thank you from the top and bottom of my heart.. I have not yet played with it but I did at least put the battery in it..I love the back lit display...very easy to read.. I will try to play with it later this evening..I am thinking about a quick way to mount the filter until I can do as Mike has. Thanks again..
