I'm sorry but I'm a newbie of the laser-world...
Please can you kindly check this eBay auction to determine if it is a scam or not.
Code:
cgi.ebay.it/Elettronica-di-Consumo___SUPER-POWERFUL-GREEN-LASER-VERDE-280Mw-reali-TESTATO_W0QQitemZ220257598802QQddnZElettronicaQ20diQ20ConsumoQQddiZ7011QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220257598802&_trkparms=39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A3&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1308

Thank you in advance. ::)

I don't know for sure that the laser is a scam, but based on the fact that it is an ebay laser working at "280" mw, I would be extremely skeptical of spending that much money on it. It could very well be a decent laser, but it is probably nowhere near 280mw it would be quite a gamble to buy.

If you want a great laser in your price range check out the Nova X-150:

280EUR with membership,alu case and some other points

a bit less than 280 without the above

This is a great quality laser from known manufacturer(CNI) and trusted distributer (Nova). They are way above spec, how much depends on your luck. For the price range you cannot go wrong with a nova x series, they ebay laser is, well and e-bay laser, I think no one on this forum has any experience with the one you posted.

Thanks

Scam. I'd say that's a scam.

Powerful lasers on ebay are almost certainly scams, unless they are a recognizable safe brand (like a Hercules). And I can't recognize that one. You'd be safer not buying :)

coherent laserchecks are severely affected by any IR leakage, so this laser is probably in the 50mW area with maybe another 25mW of IR which causes the lasercheck to give astronomical readings
