Big Lasers is scam site, they use stock photos from other sellers and don't deliver what is advertised

OK, this is what I was expecting that's why I asked
But can I buy a similar product elsewhere?
980 nm 3000 mW laser pointer?
I see almost the same IRX7 on many sites, does this product ever exist? Or is there a similar one?

Why do you need a laser that far into the infrared? A 3 watt beam you can't see is something you need to be VERY careful with.

980nm is an odd wavelength that I haven't seen very often in handhelds (most folks around here like pretty colors). Here are a couple modules in 3W, 2W and 1W as well as a bare 500mW diode that could be made into a pointer if you desired.

Thanks, the 1st item seems to be exactly what I need - I will need a full setup, with power supply.

If you want a handheld 980nm laser pointer, JetLasers offers them albeit highest output listed is 2.5W.
You can ask them if they can/will do a 3W. Am reasonably certain they can/will.
JetLasers is not just a reseller who would be selling ping pong balls if not selling lasers.
JetLasers is the actual manufacturer of their high quality laser products.

Laser pointer 2.5W would be OK, but that 1st device with 3W is also OK - it is small enough for my use cases and I can power it outside. Thanks for all that super useful info.
