IR light

are there any IR LED or diodes that are bright enough to say light up a room when unfocused,
now i realise that IR is not visible to the naked eye, but i mean illuminate a room when viewing it through a camera.....

kind of like a poor mans night vision.....a cell phone and a strong IR LED
