hey gazoo like chido says that the LD driver needs 7.2 volts and thats 2pcs of CR2 @3.6v,to avoid voltage dropping of the LD driver, do think thats correct? please suggest a battery that has 6volts and can fit at my battery slot with length of 55mm for the battery space and 25mm dia.

I can't suggest CR2's for use with this application because I don't know enough about them. Like I said, you will need to contact AW, or find some more specs for the batteries. Sorry....

I will not buy any li-ion battery unless it is protected. There is too big a risk of over discharging them which can ruin them, and I don't like the idea of having one vent (explode) on me.

i have some supplier in china which is selling CR2 rechargeables with the appropriate charger that is protected with autoshot off if fully charged,i my self searching for CR2 datasheet and i found out that it depends on the usage so i think i must test it first in DMM before the final connection of LD for the safe.

I am not talking about the charger being protected, I mean the batteries. If he has CR2 protected batteries then I would give them a try.

ok i see, i open some sites comparing protected and unprotected, there some RCR2 is protected which have max voltage of 4.2v then drop to nominal voltage of 3.6v-3.7v.

Yup, it might be easier to use a different host. I will be using this one when it gets here:

I am confident if you were to ask AW at CPF about his CR2's he would be able to tell you what you need to know. His batteries are more expensive, but in addition to the regular protection circuitry they also have thermal protection circuitry.

i saw AW batteries awhile ago, and yes you're right there expensive but they (RCR2) maybe a big help for that protection they have itself, you know al i want is to run my DVD burner laser with 6volts that can fit 55mm length and 25mm dia. battery space on my flashlight, thats, it, others who have other creative ideas is welcome to help me, thanks.

Im now using 4 pcs LR44 to make 6 volts, and i test it to my LD driver using LED and it put out 2.6-2.9v @ 230mA across LED according to DMM.

Please give some good suggestion or comments guys who knows well about this type situation, thanks.

Many things are possible, but as for safe...the best way to keep your laser diode safe(r) is to use a constant current source/sink.

I'd suggest using one 14500 protected cell to power the AMC7135. Have a look for the thread Gazoo started about it in the E&M board.

any way i dont use that 7135 , actually im using DDL LD driver to my DVD laser burner, im not yet putting my DVD open can LD to my driver i need to make sure the source and the current needed, do you think guys that LR44 was good to power my DVD burner laser?
