im using LG 20x DVD burner diode, please help!

are any of the lenses you are talking about /acrylic and glass/ AR coated? i would expect that a coated vs uncoated lens of identical material would yield noticeable improvement in tansmission and reduction of retroreflection, which can sometimes lead to fatal outcome

Has anyone tried to check out an IR laser beam with night vision goggles? Talk about pimp. You'd be able to burn someone's eyes from a distance and they wouldn't even know where it came from. ::)

phenol im not really putting my IRLD to 200mA actually 140-150ma according to my DMM test reading, i can light a match 1 meter now Max. i dont know what was the maximum output of this IR LD can do, but i dont want to try that noob experiment , ill stay at my point of current im using now, it might be good enough.

i think the ld should last quite a while at that current. my screwdriver is itchy now; i think i want to crank it up more and see what happens. the more it puts out, the more i want it to put out. it's like a positive feedback (leading to COD sooner or later) ;)

im happy enough to my IRLD that can light matches, any way ive got a good news for you guys, my first failed bluray LD go back into life again i dont know why, it puts out i think 5mw, without a driver only 10ohm resistor and 2 cr123 directly, thats it it runs quite well, guys anyone who knows this phenomenon?

Hey guys this the pic of the finished body casing for RED and IR laser, both LDs inside the LG 20x DVD burner was used , no waste. ;D

thanks chido, ive always follow the rules you've given me and also gazoo, its a big help for me to build this one, actualy my IR laser runs quite well by using 3 rechargeable AAA batteries in a total of 3.6volts, it can light match in 1 meter max by focusing the right amount of light into the subject (match) ;), it runs at 140mA IRLD is trully will be happy ;D

Well I am impressed..they look like something out of a science fiction movie..lol. Nice job you did on both of them.. :)
