Couldn't find any on eBay :( looking for ICR18650 batteries, preferably a pack of 4 but pack of 2 would be a start. Must be 3.7 volts and provide 2400mA of current (as specified by my Hulk Ultra 400).

Anyone got recommendations on where to buy these? UK seller would be preferred :D

AW from CPF sells 18650s, and they are supposedly high quality. Only problem is that he is out of stock now (of the protected ones). If you cannot wait (and have no other place to get them from), then buy from DealExtreme. Note that it takes around 2 weeks from the time you click "Buy" on DealExtreme to the time it gets to your door, so I would only use it as a last resort.

Yeah I wouldn't trust dealextreme either :D

what difference does "protection" have?

The protection circuit prevents the battery from overcharging or being drained completely. Those are both dangerous conditions with a rechargeable battery.

Peace,

The protection circuit is important in LiIon batteries, although I'm not a master of them, the circuit will prevent the laser from short circuiting, over discharge, and over charge, all of which can damage the LiIon battery, possibly resulting in explosion. This isn't a major problem in unprotected cells, it's just that it can be a problem if you are not careful. Also, the circuit adds on ~2mm to the cell, which can be a downside, but that's what the spring in the laser is for.:D

Edit:
Aww, Daguin beat me to it.

The knife and torch i bought from DX came in 6 days for me, spose I must have been lucky 8-)

WickedLasers has them for $19.00 for four plus shipping.   The shipping is around $21.00 but they'll arrive in 3 to 5 days.  Not worth it unless you're desperate.  Here is another source http://www.qualitychinagoods.com/icr18650-2200mah-battery-dlg186502200-p-488.html  but can't vouch for them.  Another source but not cheap  http://www.batteryjunction.com/2600pcb-18650.html . And another...http://www.onlybatteries.com/cat_featured_items.asp?cat1=27&cat=2&id=163&uid=1107
Good Luck

Just found this source...may be the best deal???  http://www.all-battery.com/4tenergypcbprotectedli-ion1865037v2200mahrechargeablebatteries.aspx
Oops, I just noticed they may not ship to the UK...sry.

Maybe they will ship to the UK... found this on another forum that was discussing these batteries.

"when i first asked for a quote for post and packing for 4x 18650 2200 cells to be shipped to the UK.

their online system wanted $30.00.

so i sent them an e-mail to see if i could get the postage cheaper, they said it would be $18.50.

so i asked them again if they could send it in a USPS airmail envelope for $5.25, they said they would have to check with the post office.

then i got an e-mail back from them saying i could have x 18650 2200 cells to be shipped to the UK for only $6.25.

that`s quite a saving."

if you dont ask you don`t get.

***They used to have a 6% off coupon code "tenergybattery"  worth a try :)

Also US Ebay has gobs of them 4sell http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_fr...ksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=18650+battery&_osacat=0

Thanks for all those links :) I'll check them out and how they charge for UK shipping

There are many different ones listed on DX, I've been using these ones for a long time now and they have been reviewed on CPF and work really well; the other ones on DX I'm told don't.

I use them in flashlights as well as Lasers, with the Exception of the RPL's; because the RPL's have their own built-in protection circuit, it's recommended not to use them; for the RPL's  I use exclusively the LG 2600, which are even rarer and much more expensive, but can be found; those don't have the protection circuit in them.

I don't know the shipping time to the UK though, it takes me 8 days to get them to the States though; EMS can not be used on Lithium-Ion batteries, that's a BIG no, no....I doubt you'll find any vendor that would even ship them that way.

You might want to order-up some from DX since it's going to take a little time to get them, every day wasted looking elsewhere, is one more day towards delivery to you; and in the mean time if you find them elsewhere, you'll have an extra set and they really are good batteries and it didn't cost you much.
