I think I finally chose one. What do you think?

I have been doing TONS of research on the best handheld green laser under $150 and I have come up with this one. Is there a better choice? Would I be better off buying one from a guy on the forum?

As my signature implies, I have a 1.1W 445nm laser but I have been craving something with a tighter beam.

-Optotronics +100mW $130

pen host at 100mW+ is a no go for me......

laserbtb has a 100mW and 150mW handheld for less than that pen ($98 & $108 respectively) or 200mW for $141........

normally i suggest lazerer to people but im guessing you've already checked there, if not check lazerer :)

What is the issue of 100+mW laser in a pen body? Just curious.

Are lazerer and laserbtb reputable companies with up to spec lasers?

Lzerer - LZCB - CYBER 532nm 100mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer

Laserbtb - HL 532nm 50-300

Anyone have any input on these? The price gap is huge... I'm assuming you get what you pay for which is why I'm leaning to the second option.

I'm selling a 100+mW green from SKYlasers (laserbtb) for $65; the thread should be visible by some time tomorrow - for sale listings take a while since they need manual moderator approval.

I also would suggest laserbtb, as well as jetlasers. Both have great quality lasers, and have a good rep for being on or over spec. These companies also provide good IR filtering. Check out greenlaserpointer.org. Anything on the site ships within the us, from hakzaw1, whom I got my 532nm JL Ti-B from. Look in my sig, my 100mW Ti-B is actually 151mW, very overspec.

pen host=no heat sinking, runs off of 2x AAA and have no clicky switch. its all personal preference and i have 3 pen host (650, 405 & 532) they are fun to play with but are not "serious" lasers and by serious i mean they feel cheap and when you use them you forget how powerful they are due to the size and everything. i have the lazerer stick and love it. max provides the best CS out of any chinese company and even better than some US companies :)

Sig i am interested in your laserbtb, PM coming

lazerer, i have personally gotten two in. one being just today :) laserbtb idk since ive never dealt with them

Don't order batteries with the laser, and you will minimize the chance that customs will check.
With laserbtb, they implement all safety features required by fda. They guarantee customs clearance, as they are one of the few companies who want to be in compliance.

I love my 405 I got from them, and it has the best beam specs of all my lasers, other than the Ti-B.

How much will I end up paying for batteries and a charger? Anyone have ant links to good batteries and charger?

Battery prices depend on what batteries you get. Not all are created equally. The ones I use in my high power stuff were $7 a piece for 16340s but they're internally protected against all faults and rated for very high discharge.

I got all mine through lighthound.com

ive tried protected cells but for whatever reason my lasers hate them and dont work. which cells did you get sig? i tried the eagletac's in my 1.5W 501b

I've always stuck to the AW ICR cells. I've never once had any laser complain about them and I've high current tested them to over I=2.25C draw with no issues.
