I put the batteries in backwards. Blue 1.4-1.6W 445nm IIRC. I thought I put them in the right way but I guess not because not even new fresh batteries don't work. It's not over used

Any advice or help would be much appreciated! Thank you

Check out the sci-fi repair service thread. They'll fix it for you if you pay for the parts.
This kinda stuff is why I always mark the polarity on the tailcap of my lasers with a sharpie.

I think this guys are getting wore out with all the repairs or sci-fi stuff and maybe I can lend them a hand. If you need some help with repairs PM me or as the first reply stated you can try to PM the guys from the repair thread.

I would guess you probably blew up the cheap DX driver or the diode didn't like the reverse polarity and died. It would have to be taken apart and properly diagnosed but if you put them in backwards and now it doesn't work; something is fried.

^^Yup in all the ones I've repaired it was the driver. Just switch it out with an X-drive at 2.4 A, if you have a 9 mm 445 diode in there, or (which is more likely in this case) you can use an X-boost / X-drive at 1.8 A if it's a 5.6 mm M140.

Yes it has been the driver every time except the one at home right now that I should have an M140 awaiting to repair hopefully when I get home Sunday evening. Someone else said they were sending me one to fix too so that will probably be there too. After that one I'm done repairing them as I haven't fixed a single one that met the original requirements for repair yet and I keep getting requests froM people who either their first post is actually a message to me or they only have a couple posts. I don't know anything about them including age and I've only repaired them because I've got a kind heart. All the repairs have been from either the person dropping them or backwards batteries neither of which were the builders fault although the build quality was really bad.

Funnily enough the ones I've done were due to reversed batteries too..they didn't meet the requirements either. Anyway I can offer to do this one as Pete seems a bit busy. ;) If you want me to have a look just send me a PM.

Was going to say ... surprised you guys are doing free repairs for user error.

Can't say enough... Pman from this forum went out of his way. Took my non-working scifi laser and sent me back 3.3 watt cannon!

Hooked me up on the repair on the cheap and did a GREAT job!

Thank you Thank you Thank you
