I think I bricked my blu

How long did you leave on with the Li-Ion batteries installed?

The FlexDrive can get damaged if powered with more than 5.5 volts.

The build has a silicon diode installed inside the pill to drop voltage from 2 X 3.0 volt lithium primaries.

So you must use primaries with that build. There is a good chance that the driver is still fine. But the only way to know, is to disconnect the diode, and use a test load to test the driver...

Well, if you mean the rechargeable, I didn't really "leave it on" ,,, I just clicked it, nothing happened, I assumed the batteries didn't charge correctly so I put the old ones back in.
When still no blue dot, I checked all the batteries for charge level and found they were all nearly fully charged, old ones and new ones alike.
I then realized that I had a problem, and started thinking of ways how I could kick myself in the ass.

In pic, yellow one is the one I have been using all this time, blue one is the one that apparently fried it.
Don't really have the expertise to do any testing.

Hey yall Im new to this website.. i just found it today actually. I was wondering if someone could help me.. I have a four port laser that originally came with green and red diodes.. the red died recently so I bought some blue ray ones to replace them. The red ones came with clips on the ends of the wires to hook it up to the board and the blue ray ones are just bare wires without clips.. is there anyway I can hook these up into my four port or does anyone have any other suggestions?

two freshly charged Li-ions = 8.4V-~1V for the diode in series = 7.4V to the driver. I'm planning on changing my cheapo green to Li-ion 10440's, but I'm just goign to use one, and use a section of an old PC power cable as a spacer battery.

Let us know if you get your flex working again, good luck! I soon will be in the territory of buying custom drivers and accidentally frying them too.

I wrote up some notes on this. You should include a diode to drop the voltage a bit. Otherwise, you can put extra stress on the driver.

As for OP's post, my guess is that you fried the driver. IIRC, the FlexDrive doesn't like voltages that high. Furthermore, fully charge CR123A batteries have a nominal voltage of 4.2V, so initially you were putting 8.4V across the driver input. If you want to use two CR123A's with a FlexDrive for some reason, you need to include a diode to drop the input voltage a bit.

But you could always just buy a single 18650. They're roughly the size of 2 CR123A's.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the diode is toward the end of its life. Only a few PHRs have been successful for long periods of time with such high current.

Still open to suggestions, haven't done a thing with this.
So I should try to get a SF-AW210 and rig it up and see if that brings it back to life ?

Seems like a guy from hong kong on ebay is about the only source for them

Thanks kd - DTR fixed it for me a couple months back, so my blue is officially un-bricked !
