:o I had no idea!! I was thinking about getting one, and I just figured out that they are 350$ a fish.  ::) Oh well, mabye one day scientists will find a way to geneticaly alter plecos to shoot laser beams out of their eyes.

Yeah, they are a very rare pleco now. At one point there was tons of them on the market, but they were all wild caught. Some very strict regulations went in, and all of a sudden the supply was no longer there, and the prices sky rocketed. They're great looking fish, and they get huge! You'd probably need a 20 gallon tank for just one of them. :)

I've had fish and fresh water shrimp basically all my life. Sometimes I'm really into the hobby and go almost o.c. on them :P I've been out of it for a while now though. :) Still, watching fish or shrimp is a great way to relax. (Although stressful to keep, lol!)

I've seen some plecos that were closer to 18" :P

Most people can't believe that one single fish that is only 5" long can need a 20 gallon tank all to themself. That means no other fish in there at all. :)
