I have just fried my THIRD diode in a minimag.... wow.... I cannot believe my level of stupidity.... This time it was because of the diode slipping in and out... :-[ When are BlueFusions drivers going to be done >:( And now I have no diodes left to fry so this will be my last as I have another order from SenKat coming in 2-3 weeks :)
 





lol I harvested 2 diodes from new DVD burners while waiting on my Senkat's to arrive. ;D
 
i dont ahve any dvd burners though..... ahhh i wish I did... I want another laser :'( The boredom is starting to creep in [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]
 
i ordered my diodes from china.. they arent even high powered. they took about a month to get to me. at least. now im waiting for my aixiz modules on top of that. then ill need some high powered diodes. then more modules. then a blue and green. then stuff to make a scanner.. patience is a skill that takes a long time to achieve.

I forgot to mention that while I was waiting on my Aixis housing to arrive I got anxious and bought a $5.00 laser level from Fred's and removed the housing.

I had to remove the line grating lens and flip the collimating lens but I was able to make a burning laser w/o the Aixis. ;)

The optics were horrible though and despite a nice bright dot, there was tons of light around the dot.
 
Wow calm down, remember that Greg is just some guy selling stuff over the internet AT AN INCREDIBLY GOOD PRICE, he doesn't own a big company and I think he's already done enough to help with the hobby. Plus remember this is the holiday season and USPS can take more time to get things to their destination. If you want your things fast, then just pay for the priority mail option and stop complaining.

P.S. Sorry to come out like this but I got a little angry to hear people be so impatient. Specially since he just had a surgery.

I know I'm sorry, I posted that at like 3:00 a.m. :o To be honest I barely even remember posting it. Sorry if I offended anyone.
 
I'm not in a hurry, I've just never ordered anything from him so I was just wondering.
 
I think we need to all chill out. it's one of the reasons that greg in particular is becoming more and more fed up with folks and considering getting out of lasers completely. You have to imagine what it's like to want to do something for folks. Give them access to cheap laser diodes so EVERYONE can participate in this hobby we all love so much. Then, have to deal with complaining folks askin him every few days if thier shipment has been sent, if it's on time, when they can get it, especially when it's clear that the normal shipping method takes a bit of time and there is a UPGRADE you can choose to go with to get it faster. Greg is just one man, he does the best he can considering all the things he's got on his plate. He sends out diodes pretty quickly and once they are out they are out of his control. PLease be patient, take the upgrade if you can't be patient and please for god sake stop buggin greg! He's one of the best things that has happened to this hobby in a cheap source for laser diodes. You have no clue the amount of MONTHS unstopped he has spent looking for cheap resources for us. search, contact, dead end, search, contact, dead end, search, contact, possibility, dead end. it's frustrating. then dealing with stupid folks ruins it! (not calling anyone in specific stupid!)

I defy you to show me one post in this thread that deserves this response.
 
nothin in the thread "deserved" the response. I've noticed a lot of threads questioning how fast greg ships. and mentioning how impatient they are getting waiting for greg to ship them diodes. Since there are a few comments in this thread in particular about "waiting for greg's diodes to arrive" and "hate waiting". Maybe i'm over reacting but it's still good for us to know that the impatient laser hobbiest and complainers are driving greg away from this hobby.
