How to Register on LPF | LPF Donations

I bought these 5mw lasers but..






They're powered by AAA type batteries and I'd guess they might be around 10-30mw. They put 5mw to get around United States importation laws.

I guessed as well that it was around 10-40 mw
 
As Crazlaser said, probably around 20-35mW. A rule of thumb for you.
Chinese lasers work like this in most cases.
If power stated is low like 5mW, then they are most definitely overspec.
If power stated is high like a ridiculous 5000mW then they are most definitely underspec.
Enjoy your laser, but be careful as the power is high enough to cause eye injury if misused. :)
 
forjumdk, get yourself a black balloon or a mark any balloon with a black sharpy and blow it up nice and full. You "might" be pleasantly surprised that it could pop it by holding the laser steady, or even put a little hole in a cheap black plastic shopping bag held up very close.
The only "big" down side of this might be you will be on your way to a laser addiction and need to spend some more money:):cryyy:

Be careful and use appropriate Laser Safety Googles Glasses.
They are surely not IR filtered for that price.

if that is what it means, then ALL of mine are "military grade" lol

I've seen 5mW pointers called "military grade" it did use a lithium ion, maybe you're right. the term is still misleading and meaningless IMO
