Just wondering if there's a way to tell if there's a IR Filter on a greenie. I have a few 10mW green lasers, but don't know if they have filter. I was told they did, but since it came from China, they would tell me anything.

Thanks for your help.

I think you can get one of those IR detector cards, I don't know from where though. Or you can try to look at the beam through a camcorder on the night vision setting.

Wouldn't the camcorder just pick up the green laser as well? I'm not sure how I would be able to determine which is green and which is IR..

If you looked at the beam of a green laser that you didn't know if it had an IR filter or not with an FLIR camera, would you see IR cone shape shown on the wickedlasers site?

Shine the laser though a glass of Coca Cola and look on the wall though a night vision camera or that whatever that can see IR. If it leaks any it will be a white/purple spot on the wall.

Put it through pairs of 3D glasses until you can't see any green. Then look at it through a camcorder. Or use red laser enhancement glasses. Pretty much just shine it through transparent red stuff until you can't see any light with your eyes. Then look with the video camera. Or just use super-weak batteries-usually it's enought to fire the IR but not enough to fire the green. I never heard of using Coke.  ;D

My Ebay laser broke yesterday, and now it's just putting out IR.  :'( And just 24 hours before my Halloween liquid sky... And did you know night vision cameras make red stuff clear? It makes my laser echancement glasses look like reading glasses, and I bet it makes Coke look like water. I'll go check! *runs upstairs*

EDIT:: It works! ;D

Yeah cause IR passes through red. Look at a IR filter and it will look black.

Yup, it works in reverse. Vight vision make IR pass-throughable stuff clear, and unpass-throughable stuff dark. It's just because on night vision, the camera uses mostly IR to see and elimanates other light, so anything IR can't pass through, the camera's vision can't pass through, and vise versa.
